CuratorMate Crease Stencil

$13.17 $26.08
Description Assembly Instructions How do I use the CuratorMate? Place the folded CuratorMate approximately in the middle of the pitch and at the end to where the stumps are to be set. Lift one half of the CuratorMate over to take up the width of the pitch and centralise. Fold back both of the return crease stencils. Stand back and make sure both return crease stencils are straight. Mark centre stump on bowling crease using a metal peg or stump jig. Paint between the stencilled area using a suitable turf paint. How do I mark the One Day Game wide lines? Whilst the CuratorMate is in the correct position, place the wide line stencil on the wide line blocks located on the batting and bowling creases Paint with suitable paint. How do I mark the 5 foot lines? After painting the lines on the main stencil frame, place the 5 foot stencil frame hard up to the CuratorMate(still in position) and in line with the edge of the pitch, paint the 5 foot line with suitable turf paint. Repeat procedure on opposite side of the pitch. How do I mark the 1 foot lines? When painting the crease, paint up to the 1 foot locating straps on the bowling crease. After all lines are painted and frame is removed, use the 1 foot infill frame to mark the 1 foot lines. How do I join the crease lines? Once the creases are marked and the CuratorMate removed, use the 1 foot Infill stencil to join your lines. For privacy reasons YouTube needs your permission to be loaded. Ian has over 35 years of experience in the sport of cricket as a player, coach and turf wicket curator (groundsman). What did you use before the CuratorMate? We used to use a large timber framed construction that required a fair amount of effort to carry out to the middle of the ground. To mark the lines we had to make up a mix of line marking powder with water and paint by hand every line required, even more lines for one day games, this task took about an hour of our time as we also used a straight edge with spacers to have even thickness of lines. Why did you design the CuratorMate? After the timber frame, we then used an aluminium frame that was lighter and easier to handle but you had to be careful not to paint on the wrong side of the frame. However, we still needed to paint the lines by hand or use a straight edge with spacers to have even thickness lines and there was no provisions for one day game wide lines. There was also no provision for the 1ft lines on either side of the centre stump and no provision for the 5ft lines on both sides of the wicket. I then decided that something had to be designed to save the time and effort required to perform this weekly task. We needed a device that was light and strong, easier to handle, more accurate, cleaner with a sharper finish to lines and a quicker method. The design has been refined over a number of years to be as user friendly as possible.
